European Parliament adopts resolution on new sanctions against Minsk


The European Parliament, following the voting at the session of June 10, 2021, adopted a resolution urging the EU to extend sanctions against Belarus, reported on the website of the European Parliament.

In particular, to introduce new individual and sectoral sanctions, including temporary disconnection of Belarus from SWIFT interbank communication system.

"We call on the EU Council to expand as soon as possible the list of persons and organizations subject to EU sanctions," the resolution reads.

MPs consider it necessary to include in the sanctions list those responsible for the forced boarding of the Ryanair flight and for the detention of Roman Protasevich and Sofia Sapega.
