The office of former presidential candidate Svetlana Tikhanovskaya said that the date of the fourth package of sanctions on Belarus may become known this week.
"The date of the fourth package of European sanctions will be announced soon, the list may include about 70 individuals and legal entities," the office said in a message on its Telegram channel.
The European Union has already introduced three packages of sanctions against Belarusian officials. On October 1 at the summit in Brussels the EU agreed upon the first sanctions list of Belarusian officials who, according to the EU, "are responsible for election fraud and human rights violations".
On October 12 the EU Council on Foreign Affairs announced its readiness to introduce a new package of sanctions against the Belarusian officials, including President Alexander Lukashenko. On November 6 the European Union approved this package of sanctions.
On December 17, the EU published a new, third package of individual sanctions and restrictive measures against Belarus. It applied to 29 persons and 7 legal entities.
